NOVIS guest speaker at “Afrika-Roadshow” (2011)

Stuttgart. The Chamber of Industry and Commerce of the Stuttgart region presented on 14 October 2011 the “Afrika-Roadshow”, showing business opportunities for German companies in Africa. Felix Baumann, Novis project leader of biogas projects, presented two bioenergy projects in West Africa to show the opportunities, problems and risks of working in Africa.

The “Afrika-Roadshow” took place at many cities in Germany, organized by the German Chamber of Commerce and the Chamber of Foreign Trade. The heads of the Chamber of Foreign Trade offices in Angola, Ghana and Nigeria were in Stuttgart and reported examples of the current situation in each country. In addition, representatives of DEG – German Investment and Development Bank, IBN Consulting & Immigration and Gnofame Partnership Management particitpated in the discussion. They answered questions on financing, intercultural issues, market entry and development.

The speakers and participants agreed that the financing and the risk of political and economic instability were the biggest hurdles for German investment in Africa. NOVIS GmbH showed by means of two projects in Senegal how even relatively small companies can successfully be engaged in Africa.
